UPCOMING SAN DIEGO TRAINING AND END OT THE YEAR ODDS AND ENDS

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all. This has been a very busy first year of consulting for me. There have been many trainings and many meetings on the topic of Medical Child Abuse. It has also been a busy year in my day job reference this abuse.

The new year continues to be busy. It starts out with a full day pre-conference co-presentation on medical child abuse at the San Diego International Conference on Child and Family Maltreatment on 01/26/20. I will be co-presenting with Mary Sanders, PhD, John Stirling, MD, FAAP, Sheriff Bill Waybourn of the Tarrant County, TX Sheriff’s Office, and Beatrice Yorker, JD, RN, MS, FAAN. Both Ms. Yorker and Ms. Sanders have multiple peer reviewed articles on this abuse on their resume and are co-authors of the APSAC best practice Guidelines on this abuse. Sheriff Waybourn will share a personal experience with this abuse while Dr. Stirling will speak about medical evidence and challenges in this abuse.

I will also be doing a case presentation at 8:00AM on 01/30/20 during the main body of the conference. The case presentation involves multiple states and actually originated in San Diego, CA.

February includes two presentations in Fort Worth, Texas on this abuse. From March to early June, I have 5 trainings already booked (Minneapolis, MN; Kitty Hawk, NC; Oklahoma City, OK; Georgetown, TX;  and Tulsa, OK).

Is your team prepared for one of these cases? Medical? CPS? Law Enforcement? Child Advocacy Center? Forensic Interviewers? Psychologist? Judges? Prosecutors? Family Law Attorneys? This training will be beneficial to all of these disciplines, disciplines that receive zero mandated training on this abuse. I am available for training, but dates are filling quickly.
